Three Al Jazeera journalists who were in court today have been sentenced to seven years in jail. <br /><br />A judge in Egypt found them guilty on charges including helping a so-called terrorist organisation by “publishing lies.”<br /><br />The three include Australian journalist, Peter Greste, Al Jazeera’s Kenya-based correspondent and bureau chief Mohamed Fahmy and producer Baher Mohamed. <br /><br />Australia’s foreign minister said she is “utterly shocked” by the verdict and added that the journalists are “devastated as you would expect.”<br /><br />She says she expects Egypt to come under a “great deal of pressure” over the sentences.
