Did you ever stumble on a ghost town? <br />They are so interesting to see <br />I can almost hear the spirits <br />Talking ever so softly to me <br /> <br />It’s hard to believe they are gone <br />Those folks who lived in the towns <br />As you see the empty buildings <br />Grass sparse and parched and brown <br /> <br />And the graveyards are almost eerie <br />One I was excited to find <br />Must have been an epidemic for <br />Little children died at the same time <br /> <br />Some ghost towns are preserved <br />Folks must have really cared <br />Too often ghost towns are lost in time <br />For very little of them were spared <br /> <br />Another part of history, my friend <br />I hope you too can hear the sound <br />Somewhere in the middle of nothing <br />Are wonderful old ghost towns!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ghost-towns/
