Hitherto visits to the six abodes <br />And all else seemed not sufficient <br />Dusty heart started sneezing sick <br />Signaled for His brand of cleanser <br /> <br />As earlier trip so to Batu failed <br />Undone heart vowed now a visit <br />Fourhundred million years' strength <br />However could support me climb well <br /> <br />Those twohundred and seventytwo steps <br />Began saluting Him from His Holy feet <br />Chandan-gold He stood there handsome <br />Much kind ready to adore me heartily <br /> <br />Mindless to leave from His pleasance <br />Halted my heart and soul timeless <br />But soon heard 'hurry up, hurry up' <br />More handsome my husband from that end <br /> <br />Readily He kicked me to reach him fast <br />To fall unto His feet therein we both <br />Lord was His usual look proven godly <br />In His usual den of that unusual cave <br /> <br />He creates, He protects, my mind inferred <br />At the sight of His expanse all around <br />Those patterned Stalactites, stalagmites <br />A charm ineffable uttering 'we are His' <br /> <br />A silent subdued beauty I got imbued with <br />My usual secret link with Him in solitude <br />A pristine breath melodizing innerly new <br />Life of whole yuga seemed salved heavenly <br /> <br />Temple crowd has never disturbed me at all <br />But those monkeys..! ending us from moving <br />Intruded on our way.We couldn't, we stopped <br />Valli, Devasena albeit waiting still up high <br /> <br />Those steps steep and high up and up man's <br />But His are many more in furtherance unseen <br />Down the hill waiting high and handsome He <br />Stroked in hush 'I decide your time blest'<br /><br />Indira Renganathan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-visit-to-batu-caves/
