Sunlight still-life and its rays <br />Displace chalices and crooks for Kings <br />Ankh revered in motion as the <br />Pendulum that swings one end <br />Head and neck dressed bowtie –legs <br />Sweep the ground in a sling <br />We were lit up to set off together <br />Walking through thick jungle before <br />We hit edges of clear planes laid <br />Low by the pruning of elephants <br />And the grooming by seasonal rains <br />Roving sacrifice grounds of sanguinity <br />Settling cities of temple spires toiling <br />Between fields of new berries -fording <br />Bands of thieves near castles of Silo <br />Human and called by name to venture <br />Destined for the carnival the circus for <br />Fun -for the night mares to ride bareback <br />Through a dream -a white forelock blowing <br />Into faces of whiskers shoulders and necks stiff <br />Steel grip capable carnivore hands hold for <br />Dear life at the buckle and stumble from equine <br />Knees but gather to find the gallop again in <br />Strides to break falls –she braved to carry <br />Destiny where bed and home <br />Are prepared and dressed as stalls. <br /> <br />Lee Mack copyright 2009.
