Israel has carried out air strikes in the Gaza Strip, injuring at least two people, in retaliation for rockets fired towards Israel.<br /><br />It comes as tensions are heightened after the disappearance of three Israeli teenagers in the occupied West Bank.<br /><br />Israel accuses Hamas of being behind the disapperances. Hamas says it has “no information” about the teenagers.<br /><br />Up to six Palestinians have been killed as a result of Israeli raids on Palestinian towns and cities and more than 350 people have been arrested.<br /><br />The United Nations has warned that Israel’s actions risk provoking a revolt amongst Palestinians.<br /><br />The mother of one of the missing three youngsters, Rachel Frenkel, pleaded for their release at a session of the Unitred Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva:<br /><br />“Mister President, it is wrong to take children, innocent boys and girls and use them as instruments of any struggle. It is cruel… I wish to ask, doesn’t every child have the right to come home safely from school? We just want them back in our homes, in their beds.”
