Oscar Pistorius: 'no mental disorder' at time of girlfriend's murder

Paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius had no mental disorder when he shot dead his girlfriend, according to his psychological report.<br /><br />His murder trial has resumed after a month-long break to complete a mental health evaluation.<br /><br />In court, prosecutor Gerrie Nel, read the mental health experts’ analysis:<br /><br />“Mr Pistorius did not suffer from a mental defect or mental illness at the time of the commission of the offences that would have rendered him criminally not responsible for the offences charged.”<br /><br />“...Mr. Pistorius was capable of appreciating the wrongfulness of this act and of acting in accordance with the appreciation of the wrongfulness of his act,” Nel continued.<br /><br />The psychological report shows that Pistorius was criminally responsible for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.<br /><br />Both prosecution and defence have accepted its results.<br /><br />Pistorius has admitted to accidentally shooting Steenkamp, after mistaking her for an intruder hiding in his toilet.<br /><br />Next, the judge will decide whether Pistorius killed her accidentally or intentionally.
