EDITORS PLEASE NOTE: THIS EDIT CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES<br/> <br />Security forces try to diffuse a bomb near Egypt's presidential palace Monday.<br/> <br />A police officer was killed in the same area earlier in the day in a bomb blast.<br/> <br />Several people were wounded.<br/> <br />Then a second explosion.<br/> <br />Another police officer is killed.<br/> <br />The blasts came days after the militant group Ajnad Misr, or Soldiers of Egypt, admitted to planting a series of bombs to target security forces.<br/> <br />The group aborted the mission fearing civilians would be hurt.<br/> <br />But it was unable to remove the bombs and released a statement urging caution.<br/> <br />Islamist militants have targeted police and soldiers with bomb attacks and shootings since the ousting of President Mohamed Mursi of the Muslim Brotherhood last year.<br/> <br />The Brotherhood denies any link to the violence.
