More than 500 people have been arrested in Hong Kong after a protest march calling for more democracy. <br /><br />The arrests came after an overnight sit-in was held in the city’s financial district. <br /><br />The demonstrations were on July 1, marking the handover back to China from Britain.<br /><br />It has become a national day of protest for human rights campaigners in the former British colony.
