The first hurricane of the season in the Atlantic is threatening parts of the eastern US coast.<br /><br />Holidaymakers in North Carolina have been packing up and leaving because of Hurricane Arthur, which has been upgraded from a tropical storm and is predicted to bring winds of 135 kilometres an hour.<br /><br />Several of Friday’s Independence Day festivities have been rescheduled.
