Heavy rain and gale force winds have swept across parts of Romania.<br /><br />Gusts in excess of 100 km per hour caused severe damage to homes and cars.<br /><br />Many homes were left without electricity.<br /><br />A ‘yellow code’ alert for heavy rain has been issued for much of the weekend in the north of Romania.
