Scattered debris.<br/> <br />Residents of a small town in eastern Afghanistan are still assessing the damage from Tuesday's deadly car bombing.<br/> <br />The car exploded as it sped through what was then a crowded market.<br/> <br />Now it's a graveyard where at least 89 people were killed.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Pashto) UNNAMED, RESIDENT OF THE AREA, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Right after the blast I arrived here to see what had happened. I saw people were lying down on the ground, some had lost hands, some had lost legs and some were beheaded. It was terrible. There were children and women among the victims."<br/> <br />As the town mourns, medics are hard at work.<br/> <br />Scores of people were wounded and the hospital staff is struggling to cope with the influx of casualties.<br/> <br />The Taliban has denied responsibility, saying it has ordered militants not to target civilians.
