Carrying candles and flowers, mourners arrived at the Malaysian embassy in Washington, DC to honour the victims of the Malaysian plane disaster in Ukraine.<br /><br />Flowers, even a stuffed toy animal, were also part of the tribute.<br /><br />The United Nations said 80 of the passengers on board were children.<br /><br />Meanwhile, a group of people gathered in Kuala Lumpur for a small candlelight vigil.<br /><br />Candles arranged on the floor of a church in the centre of the Malaysian capital spelt out the flight number, MH17, as people quietly prayed for 298 people who died in the crash.<br /><br />At Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, where the doomed flight departed from, travellers, visitors and staff laid down flowers to pay tribute to passengers who perished.<br /><br />A book of condolence has been set up outside the departure terminal.
