Jangeo Gui (Grilled Eel)<br />Grilled eel or "Jangeo Gui" is the ultimate nutrition food for Koreans. Chef Lee Jin-ho caters his recipe to better suit foreign tastes, making it sweeter?both in taste and smell. <br /><br />■ Ingredients<br />2 large fresh water eels (or 4 small)<br /> 3 knobs ginger<br /> 1/2 onion<br /> 1 tsp sesame seeds<br /> 1 lemon<br /> 1 cup alfalfa sprouts and baby greens<br /><br />Sauce<br />1 1/2 cups of eel broth<br /> 1/2 cup soy sauce<br /> 1/2 cup rice wine<br /> 1 tbsp sugar<br /> 1 tbsp maesil (green plum juice) or honey<br /> 1 tbsp red chili flakes/powder<br /> 1 tbsp starch syrup<br /> 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)<br /> 1/2 tbsp ginger, grated<br /> 1 tbsp garlic, finely chopped<br /><br />[seri] Dakgalbi (Stir-fried Spicy Chicken)<br />An all-time favorite chicken recipe in Korea is "Dakgalbi" which is stir-fried chicken marinated in gochujang (Korean red chili paste).
