Many traditional festivals are held throughout the country at this time of the year to pray for people’s good health.<br />In Oyama City, locals marched through the town, carrying 24 portable shrines. The biggest one weighs two tons. Children also participated in the parade. One group wore traditional samurai costumes.<br /><br />At another local festival in Saitama prefecture, participants from across 8 towns carried their own portable shrines.
