Nosing 4:50 <br />Whisky.com tastes the Octomore Meleager. The Meleager is in the Renegate series. It is one of Mark Rene's personal bottling. It is 6 years old and was matured in french wine casks and american oak casks. <br /> <br />The nose: <br />There is quite a level of peat smoke but not 4 times as other Islay malts. Quite smelly, as I don't like too heavily peated malts. <br />The taste: <br />Intense and strong with spiciness with a faint sweetness. <br />The finish: <br />Heavy peat smoke for a long time with ashy notes
