It is hardly what you imagine when you think of Italy in the summer. <br /><br />But the north of the country has been hit by abnormally abundant rain.<br /><br />July in the north has seen a record 19 days of rain, out of 26. <br /><br />The downpours have soaked Venice while in Milan an underpass was flooded and the deluge caused a huge hole to appear in the city centre.
