The downing of Malaysian airlines flight MH17 in Ukraine “may constitute a war crime”, the UN has said.<br /><br />They have called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the crash, a wish repeated by the Kremlin who asked the UN to head the probe, adding that it should respect the presumption of innocence. <br /><br />Ukraine and Western governments believe pro-Russian rebels shot down the aircraft using a Russian supplied missile system.<br /><br />The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov voiced his concern over bilateral agreements being made with Ukraine over the investigation of the crash site.<br /><br />The UN estimates 1,100 people have died in the fighting in east Ukraine between pro-Russian rebels and the Ukrainian forces.<br /><br />The probe at the crash site has been stalled by violent clashes in the area. <br /><br />Dutch and Australian teams said they will reassess the situation to gain access to the site throughout Monday.
