A powerful earthquake has struck southwest China killing over 360 people, according to local media reports. <br /><br />The US geological survey has measured the magnitude of the quake at 6.3, impacting at a depth of 10 kilometres.<br /><br />Houses and power lines have been downed, with some 1,800 people thought to have been injured.<br /><br />The epicentre of the quake was in Ludian county, in Yunnan province. It is being reported as the strongest to hit the region in 14 years.
