Wildfires in the northwestern United States have been raging over the weekend.<br /><br />Firefighters have been battling the blazes in northern California, Oregon and Washington state, which have destroyed homes and forced many to evacuate the affected areas.<br /><br />Dry lightning, high winds, temperatures close to 40 degrees celsius and drought conditions have worsened the situation .<br /><br />In Washington one of the worst wildfires in the state’s history has been burning for three weeks.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the Governor of California Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency on Saturday.
