Trapped in the rubble of her home for more than two days, 88-year old Xiong Zhengfen was finally pulled to safety, shaken but uninjured.<br/> <br />It had taken rescuers six hours to reach her.<br/> <br />She emerged with her head wrapped in a bandage to protect her eyes from the glare of the sunlight after fifty hours in the dark.<br/> <br />Remarkably, according to Dr Li Zhikui, Xiong was in good health.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) DOCTOR OF KUNMING HOSPITAL OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE, LI ZHIKUI SAYING:<br/> <br />"After talking to her, we determined that her vital signs are relatively good and emotionally she's relatively stable. (I) don't think she's sustained any major injuries."<br/> <br />But Xiong is one of the lucky survivors. The death toll after Sunday's devastating earthquake in Yunnan Province stands at nearly 600, with 2400 injured.<br/> <br />Officials say those numbers are certain to rise as the search continues.
