An Egyptian court has ruled to dissolve the Freedom and Justice Party, the political wing of the banned Muslim Brotherhood.<br /><br />The Islamist movement’s leader Mohamed Badie was sentenced to death earlier this year. <br /><br />Saturday’s ruling forbids members of the Brotherhood from taking part in electoral politics.<br /><br />A court banned the Muslim Brotherhood in September but that ruling did not mention its political wing.<br /><br />The movement has seen hundreds of its members killed and thousands detained since then army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi overthrew elected president and Brotherhood member Mohamed Morsi last year.
