Liberia’s army has quarantined a third province because of the Ebola epidemic.<br /><br />Lofa, in northern Liberia, joins Bomi and Grand Cape Mount, which have already been quarantined.<br /><br />The World Health Organisation (WHO) reports that more than 1,000 people have died during the Ebola outbreak, which it described as an “international health emergency”.<br /><br />Cases of Ebola have been reported in Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.<br /><br />There is currently no cure or vaccine for Ebola.<br /><br />A meeting of the WHO was held in Geneva on Monday (August 11) to discuss new treatments for the deadly virus. <br /><br />It came after two US aid workers showed improvement after being treated with experimental drug ZMapp last week.
