<p>Nations across Europe are marking 100 years since the First World War broke out. Many of the continent's major borders were re-drawn after the end of the war and have changed relatively little since then. But some have still not been accepted, notably in the mainly German-speaking Italian region of South Tyrol which still has fond memories of its past as a part of the Austro-Hungarian empire.
