Dandi March statue - Gyarah Murti in Delhi

2014-08-12 8 Dailymotion

A set of eleven statues erected near India Gate, New Delhi to pay tribute to a group Indian freedom fighters and social reformers. This massive black sculpture is sheer poetry in stone. You'll spot it on the T-junction on Sardar Patel Marg from where roads lead to Willingdon Crescent and Teen Murti House. The sculpture, by Devi Prasad Roy Choudhary, depicts the famous Dandi March led by Mahatma Gandhi in 1931 against oppressive salt taxes imposed by the British regime.

This footage is part of the professionally-shot broadcast stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest collection of HD imagery from South Asia.
