A funeral mass in Madrid for Father Miguel Pajares.<br/> <br />The 75-year-old missionary died Tuesday after contracting Ebola in Liberia.<br/> <br />He was the first European infected by the deadly virus that's killed more than 1,000 people in West Africa.<br/> <br />His charity air-lifted him on August 7 back to Spain, where he received the experimental Ebola drug ZMapp.<br/> <br />It's the same drug that's said to be stabilising two American aid workers infected with Ebola, but it couldn't help Father Pajares.<br/> <br />His home town of Iglesuela has declared three days of mourning.<br/> <br />His nephew Javier Pajares, says his uncle's death should bring attention to the plight of aid workers risking their own lives to help others with Ebola.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) NEPHEW OF FATHER MIGUEL PAJARES, JAVIER PAJARES, SAYING:<br/> <br />"There are many brothers and missionaries and NGOs that need support and that was Miguel's message.
