Of beauty and beautiful ones
They walk with their lovely faces
Right into a pack
Of hungry wolves
Ready to be devoured
And before they get back to their senses
They are but skeletons
Their beauty gone
Replaced by an ugly personality
Never to be liked
Never to be admired.

Of beauty and beautiful ones
They think
Should kiss as many frogs
In their search of Prince Charming
But the frogs can’t help but keep on harming
For in the course of kissing
Like snakes they keep on hissing
So loud that the beautiful ones
Can hardly hear their conscience cry out
And when they start missing
Their once admired beauty
Of character and integrity
It is always too late
For the frogs leave an ugly smudge
Of the beautiful ones once pretty faces
Roughened up by the frogs coarse bodies
Never to be liked
Never to be admired
A lesson to the others
Yet to be learned

Patrick Nandwa

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/kissing-frogs/
