Israel has carried out air strikes in Gaza, after it said three rockets were fired from the coastal enclave, breaking a short-lived extension to a ceasefire agreed last night.<br /><br />Footage from AP news agency appeared to show a smoke stream from a rocket billowing out above the Zeitoun area of Gaza.<br /><br />Israel has withdrawn its negotiators from Egypt. Mediators had hoped the ceasefire extension would buy time to find agreement between the two sides for a permanent truce.<br /><br />So far there have been no claims of responsibility for the reported rocket fire by any Palestinian factions in Gaza.
