Potential Republican presidential candidate, Texas Governor Rick Perry has turned himself in to the authorities after being indicted last week on two felony charges of abusing power.<br /><br />The indictment by a grand jury in Travis County which is a Democrat stronghold, was over his veto of funding for a state ethics watchdog that has investigated prominent Texas Republicans.<br /><br />His supporters turned out to cheer him. <br /><br />If found guilty Perry faces between five and 99 years in jail. Perry denies any wrongdoing and claims the charges are politically motivated.
