Hip-hop icon Suge Knight is recovering in a hospital after being shot at this West Hollywood nightclub, early Sunday morning.<br/> <br />Two others were also shot.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) LAPD LIEUTENANT, JOHN CORINA, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Apparently some altercation took place inside. Somebody pulled out a gun and started shooting. A person by the name of Suge Knight ended up getting shot. He's taken to the hospital."<br/> <br />The 1Oak club was hosting a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party, and police say it was packed with hundreds of people when the shots were fired.<br/> <br />TMZ reports that Knight, co-founder of Death Row Records, was in intensive care after undergoing surgery.<br/> <br />It's not the first time Knight has been the victim of a shooting.<br/> <br />At a Miami party in 2005 he was shot in the leg, also before the MTV music awards.
