Iranian state media agency Tasnim has broadcast footage that purportedly shows the debris of an Israeli drone shot down near the Natanz nuclear facility.<br /><br />The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement on Sunday (August 24) saying that its forces had fired a missile at a drone that was on course to fly over Natanz.<br /><br />The IRGC did not specify the date of the incident.<br /><br />Arabic-language broadcaster Al-Alam, which is sponsored by the Iranian government, reported that the aircraft was downed on Saturday (August 23).<br /><br />Israel has made no comment on the IRGC statement or the Iranian media reports.<br /><br />Tehran says its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes – but critics, Israel included, believe it to be a front for developing weapons.
