Faced with a schism within his cabinet, the beleaguered French president purged his ministerial ranks of dissenters from the left wing of his own Socialist Party. </p><br />But Hollande shows few signs of changing policies; especially the belt-tightening economic policies that his critics say have led France down a dead end of high unemployment and zero economic growth.
