Lufthansa’s low cost carrier Germanwings has cancelled more than 100 flights planned for Friday (August 29) morning, as pilots go on strike in a row over an early retirement scheme. <br /><br />Around 15-thousand passengers are set to be affected by the six-hour walkout, which began at 0600 CET.<br /><br />Pilots want managers to maintain a scheme which allows them to retire early at 55 and still keep some of their pay until they reach the age at which state pensions start.<br /><br />Talks on Thursday broke down without any agreement.
