Thousands of people have filled the streets of Berlin to protest against spying and data collection.<br /><br />Marching under the slogan “freedom instead of fear,” they claimed privacy is being violated in the name of security.<br /><br />Around 80 organisations and civil rights groups, including Amnesty International, called for the demonstration which has taken place annually since 2006.<br /><br />The protesters marched from the Brandenburg Gate to the chancellery.
