Singer Chris Brown pleads guilty to Washington assault charge

Grammy-winning R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in Washington.<br/> <br />The charge stems from a sidewalk scuffle with a fan last year.<br/> <br />The District of Columbia Superior Court sentenced Brown to time served in jail and ordered him to pay $150 in court costs.<br/> <br />Brown's attorney, Danny Oronato, says his client is ready to move on.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) DANNY ORONATO, ATTORNEY FOR CHRIS BROWN, SAYING:<br/> <br />"I think Mr. Brown is pleased with the outcome. We think it's fair. It helps him get on with his life. As you know, Mr. Brown is a recording artist. He has a new album coming out and he wants to focus on his career, doing well and completing his probation in California."<br/> <br />Brown was released in June from a Los Angeles jail after serving a one-year sentence for violating probation following his 2009 assault of pop singer Rihanna.
