A kidnapping investigation is underway in Estonia where officials say a security officer was abducted across the border to Russia.<br/> <br />Officials say the officer was taken at gunpoint during an operation to stop an illegal border crossing.<br/> <br />In recent years the border has seen a number of incidents involving smuggling, illegal migration, and weapons trafficking.<br/> <br />In this incident, unidentified abductors jammed radio communications and used a smoke grenade.<br/> <br />Security officials say preliminary information does not suggest the abduction was political.
