Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre speaks about the instant impact Mario Balotelli has made off the field since arriving at Anfield last month.<br /><br />Speaking at the Soccerex Global Convention in Manchester, Ayre says that Liverpool "generated about £50,000 worth of Balotelli-named shirts" on the day the striker signed for the club.<br /><br />Despite the figure, Ayre said signing the controversial Italian "was never about commercial opportunity, it was always about the football and always will be".
