Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has approved a new law tightening government control of the Internet just three weeks into his presidency.<br /><br />The telecoms authority has also been given the power to block sites if they are against national security.<br /><br />In February, as prime minister he temporarily blocked Twitter after criticism of an alleged corruption scandal involving his inner circle.<br /><br />The move has prompted public anger and raised concern about freedom of speech.
