Penne Alla Vodka is more an American-Italian recipe than an Italian-American recipe. This pasta has best of both worlds, it has the creaminess from the cheese sauce and tanginess from the marinara sauce.<br />Often, restaurant chefs finish this dish by swirling butter into the sauce at the end. One can do the same, or use olive oil to finish the sauce. <br /><br />INGREDIENTS: <br /><br />1 cup of Marinara sauce<br />1 1/2 cups of whole milk<br />1 tablespoon of flour <br />1/4 cup of grated mozzarella<br />2-3 tbsp. of vodka<br />1 cup of Penne pasta <br />1 tsp. of Italian seasoning <br />2 tbsp. of tomato ketchup <br />1 teaspoon of red chili flakes <br />1 olive oil <br />1 tbsp. of butter <br />2 tbsp. of Parmesan cheese <br />Salt and pepper to taste<br /><br />Tips While Cooking<br />Always heat the oil first and then add the butter to prevent it form burning. <br /><br />Add flour to the oil and butter and cook it for a min. to remove the rawness. <br /><br />After you add the vodka do not cover.
