<p>The Indonesian island of Komodo is home to a carnivorous giant lizard that dominates the local ecosystem, and a group of visitors were recently lucky enough to capture it on film. The Komodo dragon can grow up to 10 feet in length and although they have a <a class="link" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.nbcnews.com/id/30913500/ns/technology_and_science-science/t/komodo-dragon-attacks-terrorize-villages" target="_blank">poisonous bite with enough venom to kill a person within hours</a>, attacks on humans are rare.</p><p>In this video, English teacher Jonathan Hawkins marvels at the size of the animal, comparing it to a dinosaur.
