ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />Britain's Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, conveyed the Queen's best wishes to Malta on its fiftieth anniversary of Independence on Saturday (September 20).<br/> <br />Prince William spent the day meeting local dignitaries before he attended a reception at Valletta's Grand Harbour to watch a spectacular fireworks display.<br/> <br />Tourists and residents gathered in the capital Valletta hoping for a glimpse of Britain's second in line to the throne.<br/> <br />The prince is in Malta in place of his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, who had to cancel her visit to Malta, on what would have been her first solo overseas trip, as she is suffering from the effects of acute morning sickness. The couple announced earlier in September that they were expecting their second child.
