Kerry opens Climate Week NYC with new initiative

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry opened NYC Climate Week with a speech at the Morgan Library in New York City on Monday (September 22).<br/> <br />NYC Climate Week seeks to draw attention to carbon emissions and their link to global warming. It comes ahead of a Sept. 23 United Nations Climate Summit.<br/> <br />During his remarks, Kerry announced a U.S. plan to fund a new World Bank program to decrease methane.<br/> <br />"I'm pleased to announce today that the United States will be contributing $15 million (USD) to kick start the World Bank's new pilot auction facility. This initiative will set up a guaranteed price for each ton of methane that project developers are able to cut from their facilities," Kerry said. "This is especially important for those of you, and I assume that's everybody here, that follows this closely, methane is 20 times more dangerous and damaging than carbon dioxide."<br/> <br />Kerry added, "It doesn't cost more to deal with climate chang
