Ed Miliband introduced delegates at the Labour conference to Elizabeth the apprentice electrician, one of a series of people name-checked in his speech. <br />He said Labour had a plan for the number of school leavers taking up an apprenticeship, to match the number of those going to university by 2025. <br />His speech was peppered with references to people he had met in recent weeks, including Colin, who remembered the foundation of the NHS, Gareth at a software company, and a cleaner called Josephine.
