A dash cam video has been released showing a former South Carolina state trooper shooting a driver as he was reaching inside his glove department for his licence and registration. <br /> <br />Former highway patrol officer, Sean Groubert, repeatedly fired on the victim, Levar Jones, hitting him with one bullet in the hip. <br /> <br />31-year-old Groubert has been charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature with his bail set at $75,000. <br /> <br />As he was shooting , he shouted at Jones: ‘Get out of the car, get out of the car.’ <br /> <br />The victim replied:’I just got my licence, you said get my licence.’ <br /> <br />Groubert faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. <br /> <br />WLTX reported that Jones is currently recovering from his injury at home after being hospitalised. <br /> <br />South Carolina Department of Public Safety Director Leroy Smith described the case as ‘disturbing.’
