ROUGH

John Galliano promised its devotees a place to shade from the summer sun in its latest ready-to-wear collection unveiled on Sunday (September 28) with a series of leafy looks dominating the runway. From their foliage-covered sheer dresses down to the wooden soles of their chunky wedges, the models resembled marching trees as they faced the press pack at Paris Fashion Week. But this was no eco show with the silk dresses in earth tones jazzed up with blue plastic leaves, and the odd sparkle added by shimmering silver mini-dresses. Models sported sunhats in different shades of green, put together using a series of short tubes - stylish maybe, but impractical for shielding their heads against the rays. And for those chilly evenings, Creative Director Bill Gaytten, who took the helm of the brand from John Galliano in 2011, proposed a fluffy green wrap.
