Today's episode of MUSIC AND ITS ALTERNATIVES looks at some modern expressions of music in Latin America. We begin in Mexico with Pedro y el Lobo Records, a group that uses the Internet and social networks to get its music heard. Then on to Spain for a short clip in which local artists reflect on how limited opportunities are for new entertainers in their country and how many are obliged to search abroad for options. Yet the Internet has helped reduce the power once held by record labels by returning it to the artists.
