Mexican drug cartel boss Hector Beltran Leyva seized in restaurant

One of Mexico’s most notorious drug lords, Hector Beltran Leyva, has been captured by soldiers.<br /><br />Authorities say he was arrested at a restaurant in a town in central Mexico where he had been living and posing as a local businessman.<br /><br />DNA testing is being done to confirm his identity.<br /><br />His cartel, known as the ABL, was responsible for trafficking drugs to the US and Europe, as well as murder, kidnapping and torture.<br /><br />The head of the attorney general’s criminal investigations unit, Tomas Zeron said: “Hector Beltran Leyva is linked to at least 29 previous charges, with three arrest orders from this Attorney General of the Republic and from a federal order. The United States of America offered a reward of $5 million for his arrest<br /><br />Beltran Leyva took over leadership of the cartel when his brother Arturo was killed in a shootout with Mexican troops in 2009. Two more brothers are already in prison.<br /><br />The capture is being seen as a major victory for President Enrique Peña Nieto
