Another night of tension in Hong Kong.<br/> <br />Police attempt to control a throng of pro-democracy protesters in the Mong Kok neighborhood.<br/> <br />Hong Kong Television says pepper spray was fired... and at least one policeman was escorted away with apparent injuries.<br/> <br />Some residents are accusing security forces of cooperating with criminal gangs, failing to make arrests, and helping some of the attackers quickly leave the scene.<br/> <br />But police have reiterated their role in clearing public streets.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS BRANCH, HUI CHUN-TAK, SAYING:<br/> <br />"We are determined, we are confident we have the capability to take any necessary action."<br/> <br />The pro-democracy protest is now in its second week.<br/> <br />Tens of thousands of people are demanding the city's pro-Beijing leader resign.
