There is controversy in the Italian city of Genoa after flooding that left one man dead and millions of euros worth of damage.<br /><br />It has been revealed that after similar flooding that claimed six lives in 2011, 35 million euros was set aside for the construction of special barriers.<br /><br />But that work never started, causing anger among those who have been hit again by raging floodwaters.<br /><br />There have also been landslides, causing the derailment of a train travelling from Genoa to Turin.<br /><br />The driver was hurt but all of the 150 passengers were reported to have escaped without any serious injuries.<br /><br />Officials have also been criticised for not giving enough warning about the bad weather.
