Prisoners at a Brazilian jail have freed 10 guards they had been holding hostage ending a three-day standoff with the authorities.<br /><br />The inmates had rebelled demanding better conditions at the over crowded jail.<br /><br />A local official said the dispute ended after the prisoners’ demands to be moved to other facilities were met.<br /><br />Guarapuava jail is one of several detention centres in the southern state of Paraná to have had prisoner disturbances in the last year.
