The calm before the storm.<br/> <br />Category 4 Hurricane Gonzalo is bearing down on Bermuda. It's swirling around 300 miles south-southwest of the island. And the National Hurricane Center says it's packing winds of up to 140 miles per hour.<br/> <br />Forecasters say heavy rain and winds will ravage the island Friday, with full hurricane conditions to follow.<br/> <br />They're calling it one of the strongest storms ever to threaten Bermuda -- a popular tourist destination still recovering from the recent fury of Tropical Storm Fay.<br/> <br />Residents have been battening down... preparing for Gonzalo to come ashore.
